Utilities for lunar calibration

Lunar observation netCDF file preparation

  • NCDF_lun_obs.pro
    • This is an example of the commands that can be used to produce a lunar calibration NetCDF file accepted by the GIRO executable. The commands were extracted from the routine which prepares the data of MSGs, MTP, and MTSAT2 in EUMETSAT. The comments have the aim of guiding the user in the preparation of his/her own script. Please notice that this file cannot be compiled and used in this format! IT MUST BE MODIFIED ACCORDING TO THE USER'S NEEDS.

Lunar calibration netCDF file handling

  • GIRO_READ_OUTPUT.pro (Updated: 2015-02-24)
    • This is an example of IDL procedure to read part of the content of the lunar calibration netCDF file and to store such information in an IDL structure. This is the updated version compatible with the output of GIRO v1.0.0. In detail, it retrieves also the effective wavelength. For data produced with GIRO releases previous to the v1.0.0 please use GIRO_READ_OUTPUT_OLD.pro.
  • GIRO_PLOTS.pro
    • This is an example of IDL procedure that allows the users to visualize irradiance bias between the observed irradiance and the ROLO reference irradiance from the content of the lunar calibration netCDF. Besides, the procedure represents the dependence on the phase angle value of the calibration results (to check for a possible phase dependence). In order to run such procedure the IDL Coyote library is needed Coyote IDL Program Libraries together with the GIRO_READ_OUTPUT.pro procedure (this must be available in the same folder).
