Summary
Bob Iacovazzi (NOAA) provided a detailed review of the GSICS Procedure for Product Acceptance, highlighting the current status of the products currently in demonstration phase. The impediments to further progress were discussed and a strategy agreed to expedite the process:
- All producers of products currently in Demonstration mode should contact their test users, providing details of access to the products and their documentation, and be proactive in seeking their feedback.
- Tim Hewison to compile a statement on the traceability of IASI as an inter-calibration reference with assistance of NIST, based on material supplied by Denis Blumstein (CNES). The concept for NOAA's products is that AIRS is used as a transfer standard to complement the inter-calibration against IASI as a reference.
In other items:
- Representatives of the IVOS group of CEOS WGCV will be invited to attend parts of the next GSICS meeting - by teleconference if necessary to discuss details of further cooperation between CEOS and GSICS.
- The topics for the next two web meetings will be combined into a single meeting in mid-late February 2011: Common interface for GSICS Bias Monitoring and planning the next meeting in Daejeon.
